PRIDE: pleasure or satisfaction taken in something done by or belonging to oneself or believed to reflect credit upon oneself
🙌Being proud of something you have accomplished is such a magical thing!
🙈But pride can make us blind to the truth sometimes. We can wish and we can pray to be right, but what if that isn't the reality? And this is true for work life and home life.
👌There is NO problem with being proud of a hard day's work. And there is NO problem with being proud of, say, your excellent navigational skill. But can we be proud enough in our ability to see things from a different point of view? You may have worked all day on a project for school or work or even your own small business, but did your work reflect quality? And you may know every which way to get to Disneyland, but can you ask for help when you don't know the way?
💪Be proud of your life decisions and your accomplishments (like being able to balance yourself in the Small World wall like this 😂), but also be able to know when to set the pride aside to take constructive criticism on that thing you've been working on all week. And be able to take directions when you may not know the way. Don't let your pride blind you from help that can make something better for YOU 💕
“Magic Bus” (acrylic on vinyl) This was fun to paint! I had a photo reference but then about half way through, I ditched it and decided to create what I felt. When I let go, I feel freedom and peace! I become happy.. I believe one of the best work comes from those kinds of experiences!
