#smotd - single leg skater lunge (working from a dead stop); took @kelvingary and me a while to hunt down a name for this (ck my stories) and trust, it’s far more challenging than it looks. 🔹think of this as a regression from a pistol squat, but progression from a single leg box squat. Especially great if you are someone who feels tightness or stress in the hip flexor of the suspended leg when performing a SL Box Squat 🔹it’s hard to see in the video but you want to try and keep the foot of the suspended leg from touching the @airex pad or floor. I’m using two pads but if that’s too easy try one or something that has a similar height (roll a mat up, towel, get creative). 🔹works glute strength, hip strength/stability and quad strength. 🔹aim for 12 reps per leg, 4 sets. For more of a challenge hold weights or a kettlebell. .
