Took this photo shortly after attending Oktoberfest. We did some exploring in the north of Bavaria and stumbled upon this quaint village tucked away behind the trees. Decided to walk up to the castle and get a view of the village from there it was definitely worth it!
I was entering a world whose newness stunned me.
I learned to distinguish between distress and melancholy, lack of emotion and serenity.
I learned to recognize the hesitations of the heart, and its ecstasies, the splendor of great renunciations, and the subterranean murmurings of hope.
I entered into exalted trances, as on those evenings when I used to gaze upon the sky full of moving clouds behind the distant blue of the hills.
I was both the landscape and its beholder.
I existed only through myself and for myself.
My path was clearly marked.
I had to perfect, enrich and express myself in a work of art that would help others to live.

Believe it or not, there is a very strong relationship between life fulfillment and control. The amount of control you have over your life is directly correlated with life fulfillment. So the more control you have, the more joy you get out of your life and vice versa. If you bad about how your life is going or that you feel no sense of joy or fulfillment, most likely it's because you feel out of control in many aspects of your life. For example, many people are not happy with the jobs they're working at, not necessarily because of the amount of money they're making, but because they do not have much control over how their work should be done. Usually it’s their bosses who dictate how the work should be done, not the employees themselves. Similarly, if you're allowing your friends and family members to make life decisions for you, such as pursuing a particular career or marrying a certain person, chances are that you're not going to feel fulfilled.
If you want to have a joyful and fulfilling life, you have to start taking control. Don't get me wrong, there are certain aspects of your life that are out of your control. In that case, it’s best to leave them to the Higher Power. But for everything else, you have to take responsibility instead of leaving it to other people. If you look at the list in this post, clearly there are so many things you have control over. For instance, if you want to improve your health, you have control over what you eat and how often you exercise. If you want to expand your knowledge, you have control over the type and number of books you read at a given time. If you want to create a good reputation, you have control over how you behave in front of others or how you portray your attitude. The main idea is that there are so many things you can take control of.
So I'd encourage you to take a step back and evaluate how much control you have over your life. If you find yourself letting people make decisions for you, make a commitment to start making decisions at your own terms. If you do this, you will eventually get more joy and fulfillment out of your life. Share your thoughts in the comments and tag someone who needs to see this.
Put up the Christmas tree today and decided to leave it outside in the bed of my truck. Thanks to @vasseurnyc for the big assist setting it up and decorating. Now I just want some snow so I can take pics of the blue lights ❄️ ❄️
