• PUTTING MY OWN FITNESS FIRST •
I’ll be honest and say this year in general, I have found it really tough to prioritise my own training 🙈. There are so many reasons why, (and I plan to fully go into it in a vlog) but let’s just say...I lost my mojo. And I’m starting to feel the least fit that I have done in a long time.
However, today I made it to the gym (YAY🎉) and the result was this sweaty, messy, happy me in the picture above. I found my warm up weights a struggle and I know I will be feeling the effects tomorrow. But I’m so so SO happy I went, because you just can’t beat that feeling 😅. Now, I just wanted to touch on that...the *feeling*. 👉🏻 When I was working out today, I was chatting to someone and told them how I wasn’t feeling as strong and I missed that.
He replied ‘but you look great though!?’ Now, I completely appreciate that the sentiment was kind but I never mentioned my appearance. And I don’t think we can or should judge someone’s fitness level on their appearance alone. And in the same way, the way they look shouldn’t solely determine whether they want to improve their fitness or not.
I’m at the point now where any aesthetic change in my body is merely a by product. What gets me to the gym, what motivates me to train is the FEELING of power, strength, joy, accomplishment, release and the challenge of what my body can do.
And LOL, if this was meant to be a brief update in a caption, I can’t wait to make this training update Vlog for you 😂. Not good at the short and sweet!

This was going through my head this morning when I was trying to wake up at our normal 5:20 alarm and felt like I had gotten hit by a semi after another long night of screaming teething Fynnlee.😳
She wasn’t having it for our morning routine where I feed her and put her in her rock n’ play to sleep while we workout. 🙅🏻♀️ So I opted out and got her back to sleep for another 30 minutes til I had to get the big kids up for school. Then it was straight back to bed to try and get one more chunk of sleep to make up for some of what we missed last night!😴
I remember when I would let one day completely throw me off. I was all in or completely off.💯 There was no middle ground. I’ve learned that the middle ground is actually where a lot of the beautiful growth happens!🐛🦋 I can have hard days but not let em completely derail me like they used to.
It’s not a matter of IF struggles will come - it’s only a matter of WHEN. But the people who continue to progress in LIFE are the ones who don’t stay down for long. The faster you can bounce back - the faster you can triumph.💕
