Suddenly, next to the trench felt wounded soldier. She quickly bandaged his wounds and looked out of the trench and when She saw how many of her comrades died, She with a group of soldiers repulsed several fascist attacks. On the same day, 4. September, during the next firing by the Nazis she died. She was awarded the Order of Lenin posthumously
During the defense of Kolpino was killed 9 nurses: Capa Zakharova (Капа Захарова), Nata Pavlova (Ната Павлова), Lyolya Shortova (Лёля Шортова), Anya Afanasyeva (Аня Афанасьева), Zina Verkhovtseva (Зина Верховцева), Tosya Sokolova (Тося Соколова), Nina Bogdanova (Нина Богданова), Vera Vasilyeva (Вера Васильева), Masha Malysheva (Маша Малышева). They were between 16 and 20 years old!
