Annnnnd my tomato cropped has failed. 🍅I've got blossom rot on almost every fruit. Maybe I over fertilized? Over- and under-watering don't seem to be likely culprits, but who knows! 👩🌾 Someone share their bounty with me, I'm dying over here 😭 🍅
🐈✨magical zine feelings✨🐈 It was my first time attending the Zine Librarian (un)Conference, and officially all of the feelings have been felt. I mostly feel love and gratitude to know such thoughtful, hard working, inspirational, and welcoming librarian and archivist folk. Thank you all for being my radical role models. (None of these pictures are mine, conference multi tasking is not my strength.)
Spotted this excellent display at Temple Square yesterday (and some nice flower colors). Happy Pioneer Day, y'all. If you haven't already, definitely listen to the Utah state song. I have it stuck in my head fairly frequently. 🎶Utah! People working together. Utah! What a great place to be. Blessed from heaven above (!!), it's the land that we love. This is the place. 🎶
I've been a busy bb 🐇 I'll have three new zines at Alt Press Fest tomorrow! And @gridzinefest is releasing a compilation zine guide to Salt Lake. I'm pumped about all of them, so I hope to see you tomorrow. 12-4pm, SLCPL main branch. #altpressfest
And a sneak peek at a zine I *think* I might be able to pull off, all about my teenage obsession with SNL and that time I was the ~webmistress~ of The Horatio Sanz Laugh Shack- the first and probably only, Horatio Sanz fansite. This is 17 year old me and Amy Poehler, circa 2002. I look crazed and I'm cringing now.
Do y'all like Salt Lake and want to tell a small percentage of the world about it? Consider contributing to Grid Zine Fest's next group zine! Share your top secret favorite things to do here, places to eat, best places to spot cats at dusk, etc! Deadline July 1, will be released at Alt Press Fest July 8!
PS- is it literally hazardous to your health to swim in the Great Salt Lake? I can't decide if it's reckless to recommend my favorite swimming spot 🐛🕷️🕸️
