In 2012 I ran my first full marathon a 4:28...over the past 6 years I kept getting PRs in all the race distances except the marathon. It has been sooo hard!!! But I also never trained the way I did this time around. I always just put in the miles, not the speed and not the recovery.
I also could never mentally commit to the full...it was so daunting and I just wanted to get from the start line to the finish line, no matter what my finish time was.
This time around, training with @run4prs changed everything!
I incorporated all types of speed workouts and really slowed down on the easy runs.
I never imagined that I could have finally had a huge PR in this distance after 6 years. Finally a 4:10 in NYC!!!
I have transformed the way I’m training, the confidence in this distance is so different than it was...back then I wondered “will I be able to finish 26.2” now I wonder “how fast can I finish.” The mind has grown so much in 6 years, I can’t believe how far I’ve come and I’m so excited to see where this transformation goes in 2019! Bring on Marathon # 7...wherever that may be 🤔

Geralmente eu treino com meu marido, hoje infelizmente ele não pode ir, tenho a mania de me sabotar quando ele não vai. Hoje eu decidi nao me sabotar no treino, mesmo reduzido a carga (tenho medo de ficar presa no Leg 🙈😂😂), dei meu máximo, aumentei as séries e as repetições, nos exercícios que dava para aumentar a carga eu aumentei sem medo e esmaguei 💪🏻 sem pena. Desci as escadas segurando no corrimão e já preparada para descer sentada 🤣🤣 foi tenso.
Prevejo um amanhã cheio de dor muscular 😌
