I didn’t cover more than a quarter of Man Booker Prize reads this year, but out of all the books I’ve read, this is my own personal winner.
Rachel Kushner writes about women correctional facilities in the U.S. and does so with great talent and compassion. Amazing book, I do hope it wins.

Намного более реальное и трагичное описание американской системы исправительных колоний для женщин, чем в нашумевшем сериале «Оранжевый - хит сезона». Удивительная способность рассказывать разными голосами, лихо завернуть, казалось бы, изначально тупиковый сюжет - главная героиня отбывает пожизненный срок - и уместный, солено-горький юмор. Все в ней прекрасно. ⠀
Надеюсь, завтра премию отдадут именно Рэйчел Кушнер и ее «Марсовой комнате».
If you aren't California dreamin' already, you will be after this week! Fall is one of our favorite seasons of the year to visit the Golden State. It's the perfect time to get outside and explore now that the summer temperatures have dropped and winter hasn't crept in just yet. Over the next few days, we'll be sharing a few of @flyingzapata's favorite outdoor adventure spots around northern and central California. 4 HABITS OF JACKED GUYS by @jmaxfitness
Tracking macros is one thing, but if you want to truly be jacked, you need to incorporate simple habits into your lifestyle.
If you have these habits in your life, anything you want to accomplish will be easier, whether it's fat loss or muscle gain.
Eat protein at every meal. If you're lifting, you need a minimum protein of 0.82g/lb per day. So if you're 200lbs, that a MINIMUM of 164g of protein. For some people, you feel like Jabba the Hutt if you eat that much protein, but if you make it a habit to include a protein with every meal, then it's MUCH easier.
Eat veggies and fruits every day. You need fiber and micronutrients to live a healthy life. Aim for 3 Cups of veggies per day.
Don't drink liquid calories. Almost every obese person I've met drank loads of pop (soda), juice, and other calorie-containing beverages daily. If you want to be lean, switch to water.
Lift weights. You want to build muscle and look jacked? Lift weights. If you're afraid to go to the gym...screw it, just do it.
