NEW BLOG POST - Oaxacan fooooood.😋
I can't tell you how excited I am for this post to be out. I started writing this freaking post this spring. Then got caught up in work, and then burn out, and am now just finally getting it out there.
I wrote a Must Eats post about Oaxaca after my first visit years ago. Since that was so long ago - I wanted to majorly update that one too. So that one now is focused on the 11 must eat quintessential Oaxacan dishes and where to find them. The new post is a comprehensive guide to all my favorite spots - bakeries, street food, market eats, traditional spots, mid-range, and upscale experiences + where to drink artisanal local beer, mezcal, cocktails, coffee and traditional hot chocolate.
So if you're heading to Oaxaca soon, check it out. It's compiling my 3 years of "research'. 😊 I'll continue the research in my new hometown and keep it updated going forward.

““A word I hear a lot is ‘recovered’.
Like how do I know I am recovered?
Or what does it feel like to be recovered?
But I can’t answer those questions because I am not recovered.
That word makes it seem like there is a definitive end point to an eating disorder, like because I am doing well now that I will always be fine. And while I hope that that’s true I also know that relapse is a part of recovery in so many illnesses across the board both physically and psychological.
And that isn’t a bad thing.
It isn’t something to be ashamed of.
I used to yearn to use the word recovered to prove I was stronger than other people, that I was better than a relapse.
But the reality is, I’m not.
And that is okay.
That doesn’t mean that I live in anticipation or in fear of a relapse. It’s literally the opposite.
The thought of a relapse doesn’t have any power over me which allows me to live freely.
I am happy in recovery, I can continue to grow and thrive in recovery, I don’t need to be ‘recovered’ to prove anything anymore..”🙏🏾❤️✨
