Segundamente, vamos a receita desse bolinho incrível!
- 1 ovo grande.
- baunilha a gosto.
Lowcarb, feliz, bonita e deliciosa! 😋🍫❤️🍓😍😘🤗☺️
“Lust and Loathing The African American Male” Mixed Media
This painting was created in 2013 by Carrollton City Councilman Mr. Gerald Byrd! @iamgeraldbyrd @geraldbyrdart He is a very talented and hard working artist, as well as a visionary for all with great ideas! I was very proud when asked to be included in his art!
This painting represents so much to me. Not just because I’m in it but because of what it actually means.
The struggle my ancestors had to go through and deal with. Even what people of color have to go though today. Men and Women.
Specifically this painting represents the African American Male. Experiencing lynchings, castration, violence, now being unarmed and still killed, being hated and feared, yet lusted after/wanted at the same time. Things I myself have experienced, that my father and his father has experienced. We have to remember these things didn’t happen that long ago. Some still happens now. And it is important to know and be taught your history.
This painting has been in several art galleries, and also has been turned down by some. “It looks too aggressive, mean, and intimidating” is some of the things that was expressed about it. It would be hard to smile after experiencing such things. Yet through our Lord and Savior we all know where true Salvation and Joy comes. That’s how we have survived.
This is a different type of motivation for me. Looking at this reminds me to be strong, to work hard, that no matter what happens or what adversity I experience I know I can make it through because my ancestors did just that. Strong minded and strong willed as well a strong physically. It is also a reminder to take care of my body, every single aspect of my well being.
I am proud of this art work, and I am proud to now be the owner of such an awesome piece. Thank you so much Mr. Byrd for your commitment to your community, for the love you have for others, and for allowing me to have some of your artwork. Thank you
