My secretary said, “If you needed me to buy you beer, you could’ve just asked.” 😭
I get it, I get it! I look like a 14 year old trying to grow a mustache for the first time. (Half of that statement is true, and the other half is half-true... think about it 😂) #Movember raises awareness of health issues that solely or disproportionately affect men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, higher rates of suicide, and more. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (1 in 9 men will be!) but he caught it early and he’s now healthy and cancer-free.
So check yourself, have a doctor check you, get a test if you’re a man of a certain age, and reach out if you need to talk. Also, support businesses that support Movember, like @bluestonelane!

#WomenArtistsWednesday – ‘It’s amazing to think that Judith Leyster was only about 20 years old when she painted this.’⠀
Considered the greatest female painter of the Dutch Golden Age, this scene of three young revellers demonstrates Leyster’s precocious talent. Our specialists Clementine Sinclair and Henry Pettifer explain more.⠀
The painting is part of the celebrated Eric Albada Jelgersma Collection, offered in our London Classic Week auctions in December.⠀
Judith Leyster (1609–1660), ‘Merry Company’. Oil on canvas. 29⅜ x 24⅞ in (74.5 x 63.2 cm). Estimate: £1,500,000–2,000,000. ⠀
The Eric Albada Jelgersma Collection: Important Old Master Pictures Evening Sale – 6 December at Christie’s London.⠀

The British Empire comprised the dominions, colonies, protectorates, mandates and other territories ruled or administered by the United Kingdom and its predecessor states. It originated with the overseas possessions and trading postsestablished by England between the late 16th and early 18th centuries. At its height, it was the largest empire in history and, for over a century, was the foremost global power. By 1913, the British Empire held sway over 412 million people, 23% of the world population at the time, and by 1920, it covered 35,500,000 km2 (13,700,000 sq mi), 24% of the Earth's total land area. As a result, its political, legal, linguistic and cultural legacy is widespread. At the peak of its power, the phrase "the empire on which the sun never sets" was often used to describe the British Empire, because its expanse around the globe meant that the sun was always shining on at least one of its territories.
