I haven't always been a positive person.
In fact I used to have ZERO self confidence and a negative mindset. I constantly lived in a state of worry and anxiety. I never had any belief in myself or my abilities and I never felt good enough.
Exercise changed everything for me. It helped me tap into mental strength that I never knew I had. It helped me to see that I was capable of more than I thought was possible. It challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and to push my limits. And it helped me to become comfortable in my own skin.
But sometimes that frame of mind still tries to creep in. Sometimes the negative thought pattern tries to take over. Anxiety sets in, I find myself comparing, feeling inadequate, and not good enough .
When this happens I know it's time to break out the self affirmations. When I first started doing self-affirmations I will admit that it felt weird. Remember the old skit from Saturday night Live- Stewart Smalley?? Well I felt like that. Lol! But the more I did them the more changes I could see in myself and the more quickly I can break out of that negative mindset cycle.
Every day I say several affirmations to myself when I wake up and before bed.
1. I can do hard things
2. I am strong.
3. I am confident.
4. I am WORTHY of success.
These are my top 4 but I add to them all the time. It's amazing how changing your mindset changes your life. It's amazing how your life changes when you speak words of truth and life over yourself instead of negatives.
