Measuring ourselves (and our worth) against images of other women -- including photoshopped and carefully crafted social media images -- hurts us. The comparison diminishes us every. single. time.
✖️When we look at an image or an ideal and decide *that* is what we should be like, we divert energy away from our own strengths, potential, goals, passions, and accomplishments to fit an idea that someone else has created for us.
•••It doesn't have to be that way.•••
✖️Once that constant self-comparison is less invisible to us, it will start to feel less natural. *Then* you have the ability to recognize what triggers it, reject those unnecessary feelings of shame, reject the messages that spark those feelings, and continuously resist that tendency to compare and unconsciously scroll through images that leave you feeling worse than before.
✖️You are a dynamic, multi-dimensional person with a body that can experience and accomplish so many things! When you *see more* in yourself and the images and people you're tempted to compare yourself to, you can *be more* than just a body that is in competition with all the other female bodies. 👊🏼👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿💗

I can't even begin to explain all the details this book goes into, but it's a great tool for anyone wanting to learn how to make lasting changes in toxic thinking patterns, emotions , anyone dealing with physical or mental illness or anyone simply wanting to respond better to stress .... etc

Think of a challenge. This could be something positive like a new baby, a cross country move, or a new job. It could also be something negative like a job loss, the end of a relationship, or a health diagnosis. Now, here’s the question: What allowed you to effectively address that challenge?
I started asking this simple but important question of people years ago. What’s come out of my interviews, is a deeper understanding of, when faced with challenge, what makes people resilient.
When I looked closely at the data, I found five behaviors that allow people to more effectively deal with challenge. These are what I call The Five Practices of Particularly Resilient People.
One of the Practices of Resilient People is Productive Perseverance - people who are most resilient know when and how to intelligently pursue a goal. They know when to maintain the mission, and when, returns are diminishing, to pivot to a new path.
Tell me about your perseverance. Was there a time you pursued a goal with all your heart, even though it seemed impossible? What happened? Was there a time you realized your efforts would not be rewarded, and you changed your direction?
