Sometimes things don’t always go as planned
When I started this year I was so excited to be pretty much completely healed from mastectomy and now I could really dig deep with training, but then a blow...
I got a blood clot in my arm. I have no idea how I got it and neither do any of the doctors. At first they suspected malignancy somewhere (blood clots can be a symptom of pancreatic cancer), but then malignancy was ruled out. So subsequently, I was placed in blood thinners which has been MISERABLE. You can run through pain, but you can’t run through fainting (they make you very dizzy). //
I don’t know where this journey will take me or why I’m going through it. Maybe someone else is going to go through this too and my journey will guide them, like my mastectomy journey (hopefully) did for some of you. \\

Intensity makes results.
Intensity + consistency will produce changes in your body.
Part of the reason I love training is to observe how the body reacts and responds to different strategies. It’s fun to try to figure out what will work best at any given time. No single approach works forever. Sometimes you just need to stack the machine and see what you can do!
The one constant despite any strategy however, is intensity. We know from research that some exercise is better than no exercise. That said - I see so many people exercise regularly at a low to moderate intensity and their bodies and performance don’t change much. That get’s boring, and it becomes hard to sustain without progress.
I’m in the business of changing bodies. That is not driven by pure vanity, although I embrace people who work hard to look their best.
That purpose is also driven by the fact that research also shows that improvements in body composition (more muscle and less fat) also reduces your risk for just about every disease known to man.
No pill, no therapy, no diet can do as much for you as effective exercise combined with good nutrition. It sounds simple, but why is it that our obesity rates continue to climb, only to hope that medical advancements can counteract unfitness?
Make health a priority. Without health, wealth doesn’t save you. I see it every day.
