Even famous physicists need to enjoy a day at the beach! 🏖 This delightful photo of Albert Einstein was taken near his Long Island summer home. The other chap in the photo is his friend, local department store owner David Rothman, who sold Einstein his fabulous sandals! 📷: Southold Historical Society
I started my weight loss journey with one thing in mind: I need to be smaller.
And over the first few months - I stuck to the goal man. Lose weight, shrink the waistline.
But here’s the truth: we weren’t put on this earth to spend all our days trying to be smaller. We were sent here to LIVE.
And life isn’t just about the number on a scale, and logging your calories in my myfitnesspal.
And when I realized this, I ordered my first pizza in months, grabbed a bottle of wine, and laughed until I cried. I had been so tied up in the obsession of watching the inches off my waist go down - I realized I hadn’t laughed in forever. And I also realized how much I missed pizza.
These days I go to the gym to combat anxiety. I go because it’s fun. I go because I pay for a membership and I’ll be damned if I waste money (LMAO JK but really.) But I no longer am obsessing over being small. I’m focused on being happy and healthy.
And that mindset really has served me well. Because instead of wasting time measuring my thighs, or arms, or waist- I spend my time pushing my limits and becoming stronger.
Life’s to short to waste anymore time obsessing over going over your calorie count. “Don’t you dare shrink yourself for someone else’s comfort - do not become small for someone who refuses to grow” 💜
