This baby emperor penguin chick soaks in some sun on a crisp evening on the Ross Sea in Antarctica. It is not often that a subject like this reaches in and tugs on your heart. As one of the largest icebergs in recorded history, about the size of Delaware, just calved off of the Larsen Ice Shelf, you can’t help but wonder about the future of all penguin species in this rapidly changing ecosystem.
