Hi film friends! @toot_a_loot here! We’re starting a new weekly takeover series, where different photographers of The Film Initiative will take turns sharing their works.
I’ll be the first to share and here’s one of my favorites from my India series. There’s a story behind why the boy on the left is making this face and it’s pretty hilarious.
While the other kids were interacting with the rest of the group, this boy was standing outside alone and he looked really good.
So I whipped out my phone and he started modeling for the camera. Took a few photos, and I thought it’d be nice to take one of him on film. Just when I took out my film camera, his brother came in for a photo as well. You could clearly see his vibe being killed.
Thought I’d take the rangefinder out and finish the roll of film that’s been in there since summer.
On another note we had a lot of fun looking through your camera gear yesterday and it seems like a few of you did too. Also interesting to look through your profiles to see all the work you guys produce using the different cameras you all own, must say we missed doing these and will definitely do more like we used to.
Swipe across to see a few of our personal favourites sent in by you guys yesterday and in the meantime be sure to continue sharing your work and cameras with us via #305c.
Canon EOS 620 | Kodak ColorPlus 200

I really enjoy shooting with the 620 and having the collaboration of using one of Canon’s first slr cameras with one of Canon’s latest lenses. The experience shooting with it is not too far for a Canon native. When you see the camera, it really doesn’t look fancy compared to the pro-grade bodies during that time, but when you shoot and see the yielded results... I’m still amazed whenever I get the scans back off the 620. Love it.
