Her little face says it all. My usually sunny, chilled and chatty little girl has just not been herself for a good few days now. I think she’s cried and screamed more in the last 5 days than she has in the last 9 months and it’s been pretty horrible really so apologies for the downer of a post. The helplessness of being a parent is so incredibly hard, particularly as I’m a bit of a control freak. The constant worry, especially on very little sleep, has been all consuming which in turn adds to the exhaustion. The doctor seemed to think it was just a virus working it’s was out of her system but who can say for sure. Crossing my fingers that she has a better night tonight because she’s just as exhausted as I am. #honestmotherhood#motherhood#mumsofinstagram#mygirl#motherdaughter#matchingchristmasoutfits#twinningiswinning#poorlybaby#teamnosleep#9monthsold#toughday
🎄Baby Christmas tree! 🎄 We decided it was finally time to put up our Christmas tree today! So I also decorated the mini tree that usually spends December in my classroom and left it out for Rowan to play with. He really enjoyed reaching for and grabbing at the decorations (great for developing strength in those core muscles while sitting) and looking at the lights. Older babies and toddlers would love to decorate and re-decorate their own tree! It might even stop them from pulling everything off the main one... (worth a try right?! 😬)
Day 13: Shredded paper
Another great material for sensory play and fine motor skills practice. I used a bag of ‘iridescent shred’ that I found in the £1 shop (can you tell I like it there?!) for extra sparkle but it would work just as well to use shredded paper. I ‘hid’ some of Rowan’s plastic links in the basket. We bought them to hang extra toys from his activity gym but as they are brightly coloured and have different textures on them, they are great toys on their own. He loved practising picking them out of the shred and comparing the textures as well as exploring the texture and sound of the material.
Kasen is 9 months old (as of 3 days ago)! He has stayed home all month due to steroids (except for doctor appointments) so he is probably a little tired of staring at his parents all day!🤣😍😜 We are excited because as of today he is 11 Days spasm free! Here are some pics from this month! Please pray for a healthy month with more spasm free days, less restless nights, and for healing of his brain that has been through so much! #downsyndromelove#ourlittlesuperman💙💛#infantilespasms#9monthsold
