Let’s just stare at paper all day! 👀👀👀 It’s 7:45 AM and I’ve got so much work to do! I think I will just stare at these tags instead. (Insert long stare - but not my Curb Your Enthusiasm stare - which you can see in my stories... my “I’m totally mesmerized by color and could stare at this all day” stare. To make your own cute handmade tags: cut out circles from your favorite colored papers (or scraps), hole punch them, and loop yarn through the holes. It’s that simple! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Meet the loveliest occupant of my new art studio! 👩🏼🎨🎨✨ This amazing art desk/easel was built by my husband for our 2nd anniversary. It has seen many years worth of creative endeavors, and I’m looking forward to many more!

Designing characters, getting insecure, stop to do some mothering, find the inner mojo, start choosing colors, stop to do some architecture, picking textures, getting anxious to see things done, making prototypes, getting frustrated about details, stop to wrap Christmas gifts, make more prototypes. Handmade is slow made. And love made.
Hoping to take a little time over Christmas to dig into the giant stack of books on my reading list! What are your best book recommendations? 🤓(wood hand lettered sign available in the shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetgrassPaperCo) 📚#booknerd#bibliophile
I'm obsessed with these new gold zippers! 🙌✨ This detail shot is from one of my new #cottonandsteel moon pouches. I just love the black, white, and gold combo! Today I'm packaging up the last of my Christmas custom orders. So if you're waiting on a package it will ship out this morning. I've also been doing a lot of behind the scenes work to get the shop up and running again. That means lots of computer time and not much sewing time. So until I'm back at my machine, I'll just be over here posting dreamy gold zipper photos! 😆🌙✨
Illustrating commissioned wedding venues for my creative clients have been a great joy this year. 😍 I am so delighted to be working with so many 2018 wedding couples who love art as much as I do. 🎨💞💕 Looking back on this past year gets me a little emotional. So many of my clients have become friends. Feeling so blessed and fortunate to meet and work with you all. xoxo
Argyle + FM 407, I'm teaching my last watercolor class of the year @kimzeyscoffee . It's a watercolor card making event for the WHOLE family!!!! We'd love to share the joy of watercolor with you and yours inside the most whimsical coffee shop. We'll be painting lots of fun holiday ornaments as we explore the use color and texture with watercolor on Thursday Dec 21, 6-7 pm. Learn Dec 21.... paint with the whole family Dec 22 and beyond. I fell head over heels with watercolor in 2008 so much that I became a double major. Yes I really do have a BFA in Watercolor. I think it's pretty cool. You can purchase tickets via the link in my profile or Kimzey's profile. Hope to see you there!
Need a gift for someone who is over loaded or anxious? This. This @upstudio.nc planner is how we keep it together. Business with three people and sometimes interns, a toddler, all of it. We make a priority list and then plug it all in here. It’s the planner I’ve been looking for more whole life and it’s completely different from other planners we have used. We keep having more to do but we keep being less busy because we are always working on the only the most important things. And can easily delegate. They have to keep making these forever because we will never want another planner.
love the message, love the blind impression, and love bringing holiday cards to life for other creatives. thank you for letting me execute your vision, @inkandnibs! (and for properly photographing the rad ombré green edges edges)
Ain’t that the truth 🙋 *plot twist*: this post came from a Laura who is suffering from the flu and took this picture about 100 times to try and get the best one (but ended up doing it this way). There will be times where you feel like giving up. But the secret recipe is to keep on keeping on (a.k.a commitment) & that goes for whatever you may be battling through in your life 🙌🏼 always cling on to what makes you happy and what feeds your soul friends! Hoping you are having a better Friday than me 🤧
Pretty little trees all in a row! Here's a closer view of the little acrylic trees I made back in November and after your enthusiastic response I will be bringing them back for sale next year! Plus I can totally do white/gold, black/white, and traditional red/green colors too!
