Mademoiselle : I am testing this box to make sure it is a sturdy boat... just in case.
Me: I am in shock too. There are people who died with the flood in the south of France... it’s so sad...
Mademoiselle : There is global warming. Each of us must do something for earth.
Me: For sure, we must find a bigger box..
If there’s anything I can suggest to someone just starting out with their own business / career it is to never fear failure. Easier said than done for so many because when we fail often we think we should just give up and focus on something else entirely. What sets successful people apart from unsuccessful? Luck? Perhaps. I don’t think so though. It’s persistence. And knowing. Trust. It’s being humble enough to hear criticism without taking it personal. Admitting when you’re wrong and giving others credit for their contributions. .
Every failure we perceive is just that; a perception. Often our failures are not failures at all but just practice. People don’t just wake up one day with a randomly successful business and call it good— no- successful entrepreneurs often work all hours of the day and night. We operate in inspired action. We never “have to do xyz” we GET to do “xyz”. It’s being grateful for every ounce of your purpose. It’s failing forward. It’s building a foundation. It’s your work of art; how you approach your life. How you show up for yourself. .

Having Seren so young meant I became a homeowner at 19, my first house was just 35k, mad thinking of that price now. It was a wee 2 up 2 down terrace in Manchester. Even at that age I loved the creativity of making my house a home. We had so little money that I remember getting free off cuts of wallpaper borders and framing them in those unpainted Ikea frames, tiling a cooker hood myself (that grout was just slapped on) 🙈 and hammering up curtain poles with a pair of boots...but do you know, I loved it 😂. My one biggest indulgence was my monthly copy of Living etc, it was the interior magazine that I adored. I’d always clean my house knowing that my reward was to sit down with a bar of chocolate to read my magazine and decorate my house in my head. I kinda miss that and I know I could buy one now but it almost seems like a waste of money when you scroll here or on Pinterest for free. Now I get so much home inspiration from Instagram and my hands down favourite account is @ettrumtill . I love art but didn’t know how to work it in with the panelling, but when I saw her mobile (sorry that I’ve blatantly copied) I knew it would be perfect, a wee bit of Scandinavian style for my Irish home. Love how calm and soothing it is! What interior accounts do you most love or get inspired by? ❤️
