I will miss you, my fast big girl ♥️
The last few weeks I have learned that Lieske is going to leave us, and that there is nothing I can do about that.
The owner told me she is going to leave and I had to keep my mouth shut to everyone at the barn, and on here, since she needed time to gather some courage to tell the barn owner.. that took over a month and I struggled with having this knowledge (since I know there are people waiting on a stable to come available). So now she finally told her and I am free to speak out about it.
Lieske is leaving. I never thought that a horse like Lieske could be such a good match for me, since I’m more comfortable with warmbloods (I was always an ambitious rider in competition), and I have a thing for horses with ‘go’. Never was I so wrong, since Lieske had alot of ‘GO’!
She is damaged, traumatized and struggles with disease, but somehow we clicked. We ended up galloping bareback through the woods -alone- at high speed. There was trust.
The last few weeks I haven’t ridden her, since I’m already saying goodbye to her in my own way.
This is the reason for buying my own horse. All I ever went through, was having to have my loved ones ripped away from me by their owners. After the last one I said: my next horse will be one of my own. And so Éowyn came in my life. I took a chance with Lieske.. and once again I shouldn’t have.
She will always be in my heart. Our time together was too short.
