Dear Iraqi Architects,
As the 2017 President of the American Institute of Architects- Middle East Chapter, It’s been my dream to establish a presence for the American Institute of Architects in Baghdad.
This is to advocate shared vision and knowledge creating positive impact in the architectural profession in Baghdad.
This is very much tied to promoting design excellence in architectural design and technology that will impact the conditions of our streets, neighborhoods and cities.
I am planning an official launch in few weeks! if you are interested in being part of AIA Middle East- Baghdad whether being the country representative or being an active member organizing architectural events as part of the events committee or helping in the official launch, please email your CV with a letter expressing your eligibility to:
The role requires the architect to be living and practicing architecture in Baghdad either as a graduate of an architectural school in Baghdad or abroad. The candidate has to have leadership quality and experience especially in organizing architectural events and communicating with leaders in the profession. The candidate must be fluent in English and Arabic.
About Country Representative Position:
The position of Country Representative is not compensated, as is the case for all Chapter Board positions. However, the position offers the opportunity to lead and develop the AIA’s presence in a new territory, carrying with it responsibility and reward. From this leadership position, one will have greater exposure to the network of AIA leaders internationally, as well as becoming the recognizable face of the AIA brand and quality it represents to peers and industry professionals within each CR’s respective territory. The position requires enthusiasm and strong skills in management, organization, promotion, networking and above all, visioning, that can be championed in one’s other professional endeavors.
