sun’s shining on this turkey-day eve and the walk up window is wide open today //but we’re CLOSED tomorrow so our crew can hang with family & friends // back to normal hours on Friday // happy thanksgiving to all y’all
guess who’s back! have been swamped with a tonne of exams recently, but I finally made my way over to @storestreetespresso today after sitting one of my last finals for this year... the coffee was amazing and the beans come from @squaremilecoffee! They have loads of different filter choices which all sounded brilliant! Pop them a visit, it’s especially close to UCL and the British Museum! 🏛
TIP #6: Ask questions. And don’t focus on your paycheck/benefits! My employer was actually impressed that wasn’t one of my questions—remember, you want them to be a good fit for you too, in more ways than just financially.
What does the job involve? Obviously there will be a lot to it, but make sure you have a general idea of the amount of work it will entail and what will be expected of you.
What are the skills a top barista at your shop has?
Or, what skills/characteristics do you need to be successful here?
Reflect on things that are important to you and you want to know. You want to feel #confident that you’re taking a job you understand and can commit to. If you’re unsure about anything, ask!
TIP #7: Know how to close. Follow their lead, but don’t be left hanging. If you want the job you can ask them: “Can you offer me this job?” or “When may I expect to hear from you,” or “How does the rest of your hiring process look like?” These questions help lead you to the next step in the process and make sure you’re walking out with a game plan. And don’t leave without thanking them for your time and letting them know you’re excited to hear back!
TIP #8: Send a thank-you note!Every book and blog I’ve read will guarantee that it will set you apart from other candidates (but you still may not get the job). Be your genuine self, refer to something that stuck out, but most of all, thank them for their time to give you an opportunity in #interviewing you!
