This is at John Kyle State Park in Sardis, MS and that is the Lower Lake of Lake Sardis.
I camped right next to this lake on my way to Memphis last weekend. I pitched the tent close to midnight and it was below freezing but I really loved it. And after waking up to this, I totally forgot about all the hard work from previous night.
That morning I walked up to the lake to watch the sun still trying to wake up... I almost didn’t notice those cute ducks in the picture until they quacked 😍 coz they were all coming from somewhere else... but I’m glad they said hi! 😅
As I was letting the views sink in, the sun slowly warmed up the place... I never loved sun so much except this other time when I backpacked... 😅 but overall, I’m so glad I decided to have this park as my pit stop!
🔟 miles!!! I had a lot of firsts today. Let’s start with this: 👊🏽 it was 33 degrees when we started with a freeze warning 🥶 (my fingers are still numb as I type this). 👊🏽 longest run EVER!! Double Digits! 👊🏽longest race 👊🏽 I shaved 5 minutes off my projected finishing time. 🥳 This was my hardest run!!! It was cold, real cold. I couldn’t breathe the first few miles. I wasn’t sure how I was going to finish. 🙍🏼♀️I had tingling in my toes from being cold/circulation. I got very emotional through different parts of the run 😭 there’s was a lot going on in my head & with my body. BUT I had these texts coming in from friends!!! ♥️ Cheering me on and showing me love! They would come through when I needed them the most!! 🙌🏽 it was so nice to run with others and finish with my friends!! We are better together!! #halfmarathontraining#stjude#gatewaytothedelta#batesville#hardestrunever#finishstrong#last90days#icantfeelmyfingers#numbtoes
