Your excuse means nothing because your life means EVERYTHING.
Stop making excuses as for why you aren’t achieving your goals.
Your life is now, it’s happening the journey is not supposed to be easy. It’s part of the process, when you accept this and embrace the challenges as lessons you will achieve more than you ever thought possible.
You are so worth it.
Your life is so worth it.
Check out this gearbox, 3D printed at half-size by yours truly (with a banana for scale!) 😉
In our mechanical design course, we were tasked with designing a gearbox for a micro hydro generator. The gearbox was required to accept a high-torque, low-speed input from a water turbine and convert it into an output with low torque and high speed. Our group‘s solution was a 3-stage spur gear system, with a drive ratio of 18.34 and an output of 13 horsepower.
With a few modifications, I was able to create a 3d-printable model of the gearbox. I cut out the faces so that the system's inner workings would be visible and replaced the tapered roller bearings with skateboard bearings, but aside from that, this miniature model stays true to the original design. 3D-printed keys hold the 3D-printed gears onto the 3D-printed shafts, and 3D-printed snap rings prevent the gears from slipping out of place. I also tried out Cura’s “fuzzy skin” setting to give the center frame a casted texture. In the video, you can see I'm driving the system in reverse, as the torque required to drive the input shaft was too much for my little drill (and likely would have ended up snapping the PLA input shaft anyway!) Shoutout to Emily Bennett, Katy Richards, Rémi Coussement, and Martin Figel for all their hard work on this project! Good job guys, we killed it! 😊
Stoked to announce our first collaborative dinner with @todcreek Craft Cider. Dinner will consist of 6 course of cider paired with 6 different cuts of smoked pork. Seating is limited and tickets are $100.00 DM for details! 🐷🍎🍏😎. 📷@kristine_wilkinson @tbossart
