Been chillin at the University hospital in Augusta since Friday and the dietary staff has struggled to find vegan options. Vegetarian is easy but omit another food group and no one can grasp it. 🤔
After a lengthy discussion with dietary yesterday at breakfast I finally got fruit and cold (soggy?!) toast. They really took the “oh, you can eat fruit?!” idea and ran with it. I’ve been served a fruit plate four times now! 🙄
I have asked to speak to a dietician to hopefully remedy the fruit issue. Thanks to my kitty sitter, I now have some hummus and crackers which I can also put peanut butter on. Since I’m probably going to be here a couple more days, I just want something good to eat?! 😥
Finally home after and amazing week @annatascalanza of #casavecchia breadcamp — and a five am start, getting stuck in the mud in dark in the middle of a vineyard and getting a flat tire on the highway (you are total trooper @thereshecooks and @mydailysourdoughbread to get out and push, google how to change a tire and flag down helpful man) — now recovering with #bedpicnic of #spelt#buckwheat and #rougeduroc bread with fancy butter, a saucer of egg yolk and little bits of anchovies. My newfound taste and appreciation for real #bread is a revelation.
