We are demanding that Betsy DeVos quit delaying the gainful-employment rule and protect students from predatory for-profit schools. The rule would require schools to be honest about the costs and value of their programs and tell students what graduates earn on average. It would curb the deceptive marketing of so many for-profit schools.
As long as the gainful-employment rule is delayed, students are at risk. The U.S. Department of Education has a responsibility to protect students and make sure schools paid for with federal loans are honest. But DeVos is ignoring that responsibility, and that is unacceptable. #students#forprofit#colleges#betsydevos#protectstudents#consumerprotection#departmentofeducation
All over the world, children and adults with #disabilities (like me) find it inexcusably difficult to navigate and participate in their communities' cultural life because our leaders don't intentionally include and accommodate us. Recently, #BetsyDevos, the US Secretary of Education, rolled back regulations that helped #disabled children in American #PublicSchools. But, despite all these obstacles, one story from last year gave me hope. Lucas Mariano Salas Adi, a gym teacher at a school in Argentina, created a special harness that enables a disabled girl in his class to dance with his other students. That is #disabilitypride! Please support #disabilityrights and #disabilityawareness.
