(Long post alert!)
1. Handmade soap is moisturizing: A natural by-product of the soap making process is glycerin. Glycerin is a skin moisturizer, when made traditionally, soap contains glycerin which hydrates the skin while bathing.
In commercially-made bars, however, glycerin is thought to be valuable, and so it’s extracted for use in other profitable products such as lotions and creams. The absence of glycerine is a reason that commercial bars dry out the skin.
2. Handmade soap contains superior ingredients: plant oils and butters that are skin loving. Skin thrives off these ingredients as they provide vitamins & nutrients that are vital to healthy skin.
3. The pH factor: important for maintaining the skin’s natural barrier, the pH is around 9-10 for natural soap. That level is naturally alkaline, making the soap gentler and a more effective cleanser.
Bonus: Our soaps are made with only essential oils not just for a pleasing scent but also for their therapeutic qualities.
