#Currentlyreading : The picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde 🇬🇧 J'ai choisi de lire ce roman (ou relire... il me semble l'avoir déjà lu il y a longtemps mais je n'en suis pas sure 🙈) pour le #readingclassicschallenge2018 .
L'avez-vous lu ? Qu'en avez-vous pensé ?
Je vous souhaite une belle soirée 🌙
Good morning guys!
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving it’s the first thanksgiving without my grandma. 😭We’re going to my uncles for a little bit. My mom and I are mostly doing the cooking. My mom is making a ham for me since I don’t like Turkey. I’m going to try to think of a desert to make for tomorrow. .
Today I will probably mostly work on my paper and a blog post. This paper is due Monday night and I still have some research to do. I will be posting two blogposts today though. .
I posted a blogpost on Monday if you click my linktree it should be the first link. Go check it out!
Buon pomeriggio readers! Come va?
I love love LOVE Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward and their book Hate Notes did not disappoint! The main characters, Reed and Charlotte, have amazing chemistry from the get go. Their view on love had change due to personal struggles; both betrayed by the person they loved the most. Their story develop from strangers to friends to lovers and slowly we see their love blossom. It was such an amazing read ♥️♥️♥️♥️ #######
It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.
I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”
Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.
The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.
He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.
But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.
But I have no idea how this one is going to end…
The story begins with a woman in her mid twenty's visiting a Psychiatrist keen to receive help for her sister. Who as she describes is suffering from dysthymia because how the world reveals it's cruelty in front of her.
There are different diary entries throughout the story which starts with a pleasant ambiance but by the end the jolt of "reality" creeps in. Different story of betrayal in different from... Sometimes it came in the form of doting lover specking the ever fairytale childhood love story. Or when the friends ditched you on the day of assignment submission by leaving you at home. Or when someone stole the expensive rings in exchange of a smooth sleep throughout the flight.
The book also ends with a jolt of "reality" just as the dairy entry.
Why read this book? ●Authoress has a great grip on her writing and vocabulary undeniably. Use of simple words and smooth writing will help readers to read without stumbling. ●The story is quite Fast paced if you have three hours it will be easily completed within it. A small read but I'm sure it will have enough impact on you.
I would like to thank @rupa_publications for providing me the review copy in exchange of honest review.
REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was so disappointed when I finished this book. This was one of those that was super overhyped in my opinion. I didn’t care about the characters and the story was so slow. It’s such an interesting idea for a storyline, I just couldn’t get on board. ⠀
Station Eleven is about a collection of people who have a small connection between them. It is set 20 years after a pandemic that wipes outs the majority of human kind, but bounces back and forth between present and the two weeks prior to the collapse of the world. Slowly, the story shows how these people are connected. ⠀

I don’t pick up suspense books very often but I’m thinking I need to start. This was such a good read! I could not put it down. Every time I finished a chapter I had to keep going to the next to find out what was going to happen. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
I enjoyed that it was not only a suspense but romance too. Jason fought for his wife and for his family. I loved that aspect of it. Because shouldn’t we all always fight for our families?!?
The book also talked a lot about choices. And just like we’ve learned since we were little “every choice has a consequence”. And boy did that hold true in this book. Every choice he made affected every outcome in a big way.
Also just for fun I took a picture with a dead leaf so it would appear fallish in Haiti. Which is far from reality! Haha 😂
What are some of your favorite suspense books? I want to add them to my list!
This picture brings me so much joy!!! Thank you @sarahbissellphotography for your gift and making it possible! .
Because here’s the thing friends. We are not everyone’s cup of tea. And thank goodness for that. Trying to please everyone would be exhausting! .
The person we need to connect with the most, share the most time with, and spend hours of joy and laughter together with... is ourselves. .
So getting to a place where you rock your badass self, because you love who you are and what you do, is kinda a big deal. .
I’m the BIGGEST YA fantasy nerd in the land, and this photo hits that part of me! Plus I kinda feel like a Disney princess laying in the grass with my hair just so. All my favourite things! .
So don’t worry about what others think. Do you! Do you like the awkward, introverted, book nerd that you are (oh wait, that’s me 😉). You get what I’m saying! .

QOTD: Who else pretends that a book ended the way you wanted it to? 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
I do this with so many books. If it didn’t end the way I want I completely ignore reality and make up my own ending and pretend that’s what happened. For example (spoiler free):
🗝Harry Potter: in my opinion the epilogue simply does not exist and instead Harry and Hermione end up together and so did Neville and Luna and Harry played Quidditch for England and Ron can totally suck it. .
🗝His Dark Materials: in my universe the last four or five chapters of The Amber Spyglass never happened and instead everything worked out great. 🗝A Thousand Perfect Notes: all my hopes and dreams don’t sink and burn and die THANKS A LOT @paperfury .
🗝Crooked Kingdom: no idea what I expected out of the ending but I’m having trouble accepting the happy bits for some reason even though it’s all I wanted .
🗝The Inheritance Cycle: that Lord of the Rings themed ending bummed me out he should’ve gotten a brand new girlfriend and/or boyfriend if you ask me .
🗝For that matter, Lord of the Rings: what the hell is with the part where the Shire is completely destroyed??? And Frodo! Sam gets the exact ending he deserves (I love Sam so much ❤️ he’s the real MVP) but Frodo just...Frodo. You emo son of a bitch. .
🗝The Hunger Games: quit being depressed Katniss you are ruining the mood (as for Prim, it was sad but necessary I guess) .
🗝 The Shadow of the Wind: WHY DID THEY HAVE TO BE RELATED?!?! Nooooooo .
🗝The Mortal Instruments: All that BS with Simon was just executed so poorly IMO. I get what you were trying to do but seeeeriously. .
🗝The Selection Series: perfect ending but it was very rushed and happened way too fast. .
🗝None of the books I hated ended up with everyone burning and dying especially Twilight which had the worst series ending I’ve ever heard of .
On the other hand, here are some that ended perfectly: .
🗝The Infernal Devices .
🗝Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda .
🗝To Kill a Mockingbird
🗝The Count of Monte Cristo .
🗝Wheel of Time .
🗝tons of others . .
What about you guys?
