She keeps me in check 👱🏼♀️
These last few months have been tough on me physically. I’ve been traveling the east coast for away rotations and interviews for the last three months. Of course I am excited & blessed to be pursuing the next step #residency 👨🏻⚕️ but as you can imagine it has been hard to keep a consistent diet and workout routine 💪🏼
@laurensmith_rd has been a great influence on me this entire time- reminding me to pack an extra snack on a busy day or finding opportunities to squeeze in a workout. Today we took a class at @laurensmith_rd old stomping grounds in Boston. I even got to workout with @jcfitness4u who kicked our asses into shape!
So What have I learned? Well for 1 I am out of shape 😅. But I learned that I feel better and function better when I find time to get a lift in and eat right 🥦. Now that my away rotations and interviews are more spread apart, I can finally get back to what makes me happy and start living that healthy lifestyle I’ve been missing. Time to get after it fam ✊🏼
Just a typical English Roast Chicken dinner... or is it?
I knocked up this all time favourite while my family were out for the day on a long car journey.
Imagine returning home to the aroma of Roast Chicken, Yorkshire Puds and Tatoes in the oven while the gravy was bubbling away on the hob.
To me, this feeling symbolises everything that family is about.
Love, bonding & belonging - sitting around the little kitchen table together tucking into a hearty meal and enjoying conversation. Some loved the tender chicken breast covered in buttered thyme, others dunking the Yorkers into the meatiest gravy or crunching into the most delicious roast potatoes. I loved the leg and thigh meat best with the steamed broccoli; all floating in gravy.
But really, the real nutrition in this meal was the feeling of family love, nurture and unity. A very essential ingredient towards Health and Happiness.
