About 6 years ago I was on my way to the airport for what must have been @charleswprueter and @susantruss’s wedding. When I transferred to the orange line at Roosevelt (I think, I haven’t lived there for 4 years), I snapped this photo.
Memory is a funny thing. I could have sworn that I was facing west when I took this, but that’s not how sunrise works. I know it appears that the road goes up over what is probably the south end of grant park and the train tracks to millennium station, but couldn’t it also be one of the spots where the road goes over the train tracks to union station? Is this actually sunset? How come we just lose things that we knew before? This one is fairly inconsequential, but we regularly lose the memory of important things. That’s sad. Maybe the answer is that, since we may soon forget what just happened, then right now is the only thing that matters. Enjoy now. Have a nice day.
Also the wedding was wonderful.
