@brendanbiddell is powering through his muscle-up progression! .
Once we're able to string together 5 of these it's time to clean up the form.
Calisthenics differs a lot from crossfit and this can be seen very obviously with muscle-ups.
Next we're working towards strict form with less swing and straight legs - no kipping, this requires much more strength and control which is why it's often necessary to increase the reps first before cleaning up a movement
TAG SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO SEE THIS! 👀 - the push up, despite being such a simple exercise, is so incredibly easy to do wrong as well! •
Without core tension, the back is prone to arching, and the scapula is inevitably going to retract in the process. This leads to poor technique as well as tightness in the upper back and chronic ache in the lower back; therefore diminishing the benefits you can gain from the push up itself! 😬 •
Maintain a hollow body by embracing the core and squeezing the glutes tight. Externally rotate those shoulders and press down into the ground to maintain proper scapula protraction, and due to the stable base created, push ups are going to be far more effective, with far less pain, and far greater results too! 💪 •
Success from push ups is NOT based on how many you can do, but HOW WELL you can actually do them. STOP WORKING HARD, START WORKING SMART! ✅ •
Great capture shot during a freestyle of mine at Observatory Hill
Calisthenics is just too much fun, even being so sore after world pull-up day we still get out there 💪
Bar fun with @dave_mpcalisthenics and his family

Before we started calisthenics and trained more like a typical gym bro, we NEVER did push-ups. We had the perception that it was too easy...which it was since we only considered doing the regular push-up. What we came to realize through bodyweight training is that a simple manipulation of your leverages can drastically change the difficulty. So, if you think push-ups are too easy, try doing the planche push-up or even the one-arm push-up (without contorting your upper body). With calisthenics, the options are endless!! In case anyone is wondering, below are the names of all the push-up variations we performed in order.
8. one-arm sliding
LEFT or RIGHT⁉️ You’re style should match your ambition
Tailored suit feel is close but the no shirt feel for me is when I’m in my zone. People will treat you differently & you bring a different aura in any room you walk into without saying a word in either situation...
Also I heard a Black Superman could be in the works. Do I got a chance against @michaelbjordan 😂💪🏾
