My name is Andrew Busscher and I am a senior at Calvin College, where I study Accounting with a minor in Music. I spent my freshman year studying Horticulture at Michigan State University, then transferred to Calvin College as a sophomore to pursue a more general business degree at a smaller school.
Horticulture has always been a big part of my life. I grew up on my family's tree farm in Holland, MI where I did everything from bed maintenance to management. When I found out about DJ's summer internship, I was excited to find an opportunity at a larger company where I could both do something I already know and love, (work outside,) but also learn more about what I'm interested in, (running a business). I think this internship has been a great fit for me.
I love to travel and after I graduate I hope to travel to Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe (I am half Russian). I also play the piano and enjoy reading and doing pretty much anything outside. In the future I could see myself going into our family business, working in management/accounting, or going to seminary. So far it's been a good summer and I'm thankful for this opportunity to intern at DJ's Landscape Management!

It’s crunch time!💪
As you may have noticed, I have been working like crazy to do some learning and growing and reading and paper writing over the last week and a half. Grad school is wonderful, but also exhausting (*insert deep, dramatic sigh*). 🤓
Three more days left and two papers to go before this thing ends. And I’m running on fumes.
This #potsie can’t do caffeine, so I’m using all of the Peppermint and Wild Orange to wake up my brain and give me that much needed boost as I sprint toward the finish line!🏃♀️
What are you working hard to accomplish this week?👇
This beautiful woman left Burkina Faso today. Thanks Rachel for your constant smile, for loving us (especially kiara) so well, for taste testing all the food 🍹, for making weird noises, for listening and being supportive through every good and bad mood. Three of my best friends have been through SALT in one way or another and I am particularly grateful you came to Burkina this year, even though you’re a #calvincollege grad 😏
Travel back to Michigan safely and then come back to Burkina as soon as possible! Love you lots!! ❤️😭👯♀️
