The Gander Municipal Police is responsible for enforcing local By-laws and other duties such as, traffic enforcement, school safety monitoring and protection of homes and businesses as well as animal control.
The Gander Municipal Police are more of a By-law enforcement agencies but with the name police.
Gander Municipal Police enforce By-laws in a town with with a population of 11,688 residents. They currently employ 3 full time officers and 1 seasonal enforcement officer for a total of 4 officers.

Very happy to report that the government of Nova Scotia (having funded this program in 2017) has committed to support future SRFR™
training for firefighters, paramedics, police and criminal justice workers into 2020.
This program also includes the Strategic Resilience ‘Peer Leadership’™
Ruth Lamb PhD has led the much needed development of the Strategic Resilience for First Responders™
program established originally at Langara College in British Columbia in 2015.
Let’s hope the benefit of this program will soon be available to First Responders across Canada.
