Hey guys! Rebecca here, this will be the first of a series of posts where I look at cutting down bathroom and kitchen waste.
Toothbrushes might not be something that springs to mind when we think about everyday items that cause plastic waste, but did you know 99% of toothbrushes are made of unrecycled plastic, around 80% of which ends up in the sea, causing risk to marine life and causing plastic particles to break down into sea water?
One easy swap to avoid contributing to this is switching to a bamboo toothbrush. They're usually about £2-3 and you can find them online or even in places like Superdrug (which is where I got this one). They're biodegradable and last about 6 months if you pat them dry with a towel after use, I've had mine since July and it's still going strong!
Next time you need to buy a new toothbrush consider a bamboo one!
