30 Days of Thankfulness 🌿
Today while listening to @chrisrenzema's amazing & always encouraging music, I was reminded of something I'm super thankful for. You know what's really amazing? We haven't done anything that makes us worthy of God's love, yet He freely lavishes it on us. Jesus chose to die in our place and take all our sin on himself, even though we're sinful and imperfect. The gospel is a beautiful thing. May we grow in our awe of God more & more. He is worthy! •
What're you thanking God for today? ❤
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ that would not make it any less a part of the body... If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? ... But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose... The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you,’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ ... If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” - 1 Corinthians 12:12-21, 26
Paul returns in these chapters to the subject of our unique gifts and how we all fit together in a community. He uses the analogy of a body to describe our unique but co-dependent functions. If everyone was the same and had the same skills and virtues, our community would crumble. Some days we’re an eye wishing to be an ear, or a hand wishing to be a foot— but the world needs what you are! Don’t resent your differences from the people you admire. Each part of the body is beautiful and necessary, just as you are beautiful and necessary!
We waste God's grace every day with our failures and fallings, so who are we to withhold from the needy who may waste our wealth? Where is the faith on both sides that 1) God is sovereign and can turn their hearts and 2) Though they behave irresponsibly, God can redeem and restore tenfold.
Will we win hearts by determining and judging hearts of our fellow sinners without humility, in hypocrisy, becoming upset over the loss of a hundred dollars when we have been for-given debts of 100,000 dollars to God? May God continue to longsuffer to be faithful to help us for many of us are misers and monopolizers of His grace. #grace#mercy#truth#charity#christianity#god#godlylife#christianlife#poor#thepoor#homeless#homelesspeople#panhandling
Our choices—the natural consequences of our thoughts and imagination—get “under the skin” of our DNA and can turn certain genes on and off, changing the structure of the neurons in our brains.
So our thoughts, imagination, and choices can change the structure and function of our brains on every level.
Your body is not in control of your mind—your mind is in control of your body, and your mind is stronger than your body.
Mind certainly is over matter.

Have a blessed day and get tell those thoughts to “go away!!” They have no business running wild in your head.

This morning in church we had a really good sermon about #Rejection. Rejection is painful. As human beings we are always looking to be accepted.
Jesus Christ suffered a lot of rejection.
He even received rejection from his own people.
He did Miracles and was still rejected.
But God never let that hold him down or hold him back from doing the work of his Father.
I've dealt with a lot of rejection in my life. But, I've not always been an overcomer. However, I will not continue to allow rejection to hold me back from what God has called me to do. I encourage you as well to not let rejection keep you from being who you were meant to be. Because through Jesus Christ we are healed. In Isaiah it tells us that through his stripes we are healed. So my open wounds are healed through his love. ❤
Two years ago today my life forever changed. I was 10 hours away from my family, stuck in an abusive marriage, alcoholism, and drug addiction. Two years ago today, my sweet mother came to get me and bring me home. I left Tennessee with all of its pain and trauma, and came running back into the arms of my sweet loving family, so full of grace and forgiveness.
I can hardly look at this picture of myself below. Not only was my self care shot, but I see all the pain and sickness in my eyes. I am so blown away at all that God has done in my life in the past 2 years!
If you think that miracles cannot happen for you, I am living proof that they do happen. Don't ever stop believing. Life can change. You can become a completely different person. All you have to do is decide, believe, watch and wait!
