The same mind of Christ when he suffered in the flesh. This intrigues me. How can I have the same mind as Christ? His purpose in suffering was to bring life to all. I can’t have that same purpose, I’m not able to do that. What suffering could I do that would bring life? Could I even suffer enough to bring an ounce of life to one person let alone everyone? Love requires sacrifice. Is this the suffering that I need to do? Will that love bring life? Christ also suffered to put an end to sin that He didn’t do. If I suffer, could I too bring an end to sin in my life? Yes. And as Paul states in Romans 7, “Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.” If I suffer, by following Christ, then that suffering will put an end to the sin dwelling inside me. I won’t be fully free from sin in this life, but the less I let sin control, the less damage I can do and the more life I can bring to others. So I can have the same mind as Christ. I follow Him, which will cause suffering, which will then lead to cleansing of sin that dwells in me (being sanctified), which then will help me bring life to others by pointing them back to Christ. #mindset#suffering

What are you feeding your body to power through your day??
Psalm 59 is such an encouragement each time I read it. In the passage David says things like:
"I will sing of Your strength and will joyfully proclaim Your faithful love in the morning"
"I will keep watch for You, my strength"
And what is remarkable about this chapter is that David wrote it when King Saul sent people to kill David. David was in more trouble than most of us will ever face in our entire lives. But instead of giving into anxiety or depression, David looked to Heaven and encouraged himself because he remembered that God was his strength. And God does not abandon his people.
This rainy weather has us thinking about how nice it was spending the weekend in a hotel with fun and relaxation waiting for us and our friends at the #calledgetaway. We have made some great memories and built great relationships on both trips!
Which made us think. 🤗 We want to encourage you to call, text, FaceTime, or write a note to a friend today to let her know you are thinking about her and are grateful to have her in your life. Go an extra step and name a quality of hers you admire and a strength you see in her. You can even do it in the comments here if you’d like. 😊 Let’s lift each other up and encourage one another! You never know when that might turn someone’s whole day around! 💌 #calledwm
