Want to try your hand at kokeshi painting? 👀
I am super excited to announce you that DIY kokeshi dolls are now available on my webshop! I designed them to be easily interpreted as traditional or creative, as you prefer. You can draw kimonos, floral patterns, clouds and stars, birds or butterflies... I have done a couple to see how it goes and I will be happy to share them over the next few days! Can't wait to know what you think! 😊
Ca vous dirait de peindre une kokeshi ? 👀

The snow is falling and it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. But before I dive into all things Santa, I want to wrap up my fall scrapping!
These photos were taken just a few weeks ago when our steps were covered in pumpkins and the boys didn't even need jackets outside. Swipe to see those same pumpkins covered in snow today!
For those of you who were following, about a week ago I mentioned how I am working towards a new batch of crafty collection..... every now and then I’ll be giving you a sneak peak of how far I am towards completion... right now? Only about 30 to 40 percent in a week’s time!!! And I kid you not, decoupage and crafts can actually be a long and tedious process especially if you want to add some innovative touches to seal the deal👍 (rather than just paints and image transfers)
So here I am now, once you’re finished preparing the surface (in case of wood, ceramics and glass usually don’t need to be prepared) with a primer of your choice, while applying the paint colours you have the option of distressing the wood in an effort to give it a weathered look (if that’s your preference, that is). And for me this is the most fun part as it actually adds character to the piece making it a part of story-telling and the bespoke, handcrafted, artisanal🤗 so here you are, these pieces are now ready to be painted, Patinaed, garnished with decoupage and embellishments of all sorts before the final layer of sealant - after which this rustic look will seem even more appealing in the light of the final touches. For the final layer of sealant, the wood pieces and paints must be allowed to cure for atleast a week (especially if so many layers of different treatments are being added on) - renowned artists often leave their artworks for several months before doing so.....
