I believe in fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I preach it everyday and I cringe when people come up with excuses not to get their asses out of their chairs. You’ve gotta go that extra mile in every frontier of life to succeed. Everybody wants to succeed but no one wants to put in the hours, sweat and blood.
We are raising a bunch of pussies. Lets be an example to them and motivated their sorry asses
Lovely little kettlebell session yesterday. And a nice little erg this evening. This felt so smooth and easy which surprised me as not done anything @ 20spm for ages due to a dodgy back and tendinitis in both elbows so tried staying away from heavy strokes. This felt good though and in control the whole way. #concept2#rowingmachine#fitness#fitnessmotivation#crossfit#workout
DELOAD WEEK -6 x 3 @ 60% hang snatch
-4 x 8 bent over row -3 x 2 laps heavy front rack walk
-3 x 2laps (each side) unbalanced kettlebell walk
Snatches still light (nothing new there 👍) as I’m still learning technique and therefore often they gets put on the back burners so will look to creep up my overall weekly snatch volume.
I don’t do “core” work often and you certainly won’t catch me doing a sit-up but that’s for another post. Today I put in some carries to help improve “core” strength which I found to my surprise both excellent for activation enjoyment 🧐. #olympiclifting#crossfit#gym#workout#weightlifting#crossfitorwell
What if there was a different way to train to compete in @crossfit? What if working out for hours and hours a day and doing 4 workouts is NOT the best way to do it? I’ve been stepping away from “traditional” CrossFit for the last few months - lots of accessory work replacing workouts and lots of heavy non-traditional lifting (single leg/single arm lifts). Why limit yourself to lifting heavy in just the main lifts? Why not push yourself on bodybuilding or accessory movements just like you would a CrossFit workout?? Here’s an example of a great accessory workout I did today: 5 rounds of 20 Straddle KB Deadlifts with a band above the knees + Max band Glute bridges without stopping. This burned the quads and glutes🔥 Try and step out of your comfort zone and try doing new things! It’s a great way to push past plateaus and keep it fun and different.
