This pillow has a lot of rules, tbh. It was very expensive, and it has a beaded fringe, and it’s the only thing I let myself buy with my tax return. As a result I don’t let Jack lie on it because ITS JUST TOO PRECIOUS. I know it’s totally crazy to have a pillow you don’t use but I think it’s worth it 😬Plz tell me if you do the same thing so that I can feel less neurotic...
Is there a thing as too many monstera leaves 😳...or too much lucite for that matter? •
•Just maybe my favorite estate sale of all time: where I found these lucite nesting tables. A sale I just happened upon while dropping my daughter at pre-school one morning—-one of those goldmine sales where your blood pressure spikes bc you’re so excited 😂!
A busy Monday after two full days of demo and several sleepless nights spent thinking about cabinet colors and electric receptacles at alllll the weird hours. 😫 Had some plumbers and floor demo people over today to get quotes for next phases of the job. Prepping a kitchen reno update for this week to spill the beans on the latest. 📸 of our built-ins that are the only tidy part left of the living room.
The highlight of the evening: we stumbled upon a rerun of Downton Abbey 🤗🤗!!! I’d just been thinking how much I miss that show, and how much I loved all the historical details of the sets and costumes!
• * There was beautiful caned chair in one scene, and it got me thinking of another realm of the old British Empire: Singapore. When we lived in Singapore I used to spend hours on Dempsey Road hunting through all the furniture warehouses (I’m pretty sure they’ve since redeveloped that whole area). Andy surprised me on my 27th birthday with this chair, which I’d wanted the second I saw it. It’s a space hogger for sure, but I still love it!
Try and pretend like you’ve never combed your rug fringes with a Barbie brush, pressed yourself into the corner like a ninja, and used 437 editing apps all to get the perfect shot of your windowless, awkward entryway. I see you, boo.👀❤️🤪
Ya’ll asked for more design, so imma bring the design! My love for vintage is no secret, but I am also very in love with interior design. This year I’ve decided to really pursue my passion and start taking on more projects. I’m currently putting the finishing touches on a patio makeover and a few room refreshes for a friend.. and I can’t wait to share them with you. (Of course, alongside sharing all the progress I’m making on my own apartment- #ourbadassmainfloor.).. For those of you who don’t know me (You can also find me here! @autumnhachey).. I wanted to share a design project I did last year. This, is a basement apartment kitchen. The budget was $1200 and it was split with my 85 year old landlord. If you want more details on how we DIY’d this kitchen (completely ourselves).. the link is in the bio :). I’ll be sharing all of my upcoming makeovers using the hashtag #makemovesmakeover- so stay tuned. (And of course you can expect that 90% of the furniture is thrifted and vintage ;)!)
This was the final piece of mine to be raku fired and it definitely is the most flamboyant. The colours and flashing were a total surprise. A big thank you goes out to @guidapottery for hosting this event, @schembri2140 for building and manning the kiln, and my fellow potters for sharing a great day of friendship. 😘
We moved our tv from the kitchen it’s been sitting in for the past couple months to the front room, and also bought our first couch so I think I can officially call it a living room! The rug is coming in next week, we have to set up our arm chair and then get a coffee table but it’s good enough for the time being! The other half of the room is full of boxes of furniture we have yet to build...🙊 #myleons
I recently had the pleasure of viewing some of Claude Monet's water lily series at MOMA. And that is just what this glaze reminds me of; Monet's water lily paintings. Enjoy 💙💚
This is the last of the put-together dining room we’ll all see for a while. Packing everything up in preparation for some intense Chip Gaines demo this weekend to officially kick off the kitchen, powder, mud room and pantry renovation! 🔨💪 Mentally preparing myself for life mid-reno with a mini makeshift kitchen in the laundry room as we enter kitchenlessness. Yea, I made that word up.🙃
