Traveling from sea level to climb Pico de Orizaba's 18,500-foot summit in 32 hours… hurt… it hurt bad.
But when you see a break in your production schedule and you are only a short flight and a 4 hour car ride away from North America’s highest volcano, you climb it, right?
This past weekend I pushed my limits both physically and mentally, beyond what I thought possible. While in the midst of a demanding project, I started to question my motives for adventure. After a two-week, sleep deprived shoot, why would I head straight to a summit, when I could head straight to bed?
I realized that I seek refuge in the mountains, gaining perspective on life and its all encompassing meaning. These adventures recharge me more than any spa weekend could.
So why… because its there.
