All my life, swimming has been my thing. I’ll still trade any other activity for a chance to jump in the water! My late husband’s #passion was baseball. Justin loved everything to do with baseball: playing, coaching, watching, fantasy teams, you name it! I was a little disappointed that our little ones didn’t enjoy swimming very much. When I asked Justin if he’d be disappointed if none of our kids wanted to play baseball, he quickly said “Of course not! That was my thing. They are not tiny versions of us, they are their own people. I want them to find what they love and put their heart into it! If they end up liking baseball that would be great, but I love them and will support them no matter what. Why do you ask? Will you be upset if they don’t like swimming?” To which I replied “Yes! They darn well better like swimming!” 😂😄🤣 Justin was, in many ways, my better half. He was so right. We had our favorite sports, and I am so honored to help our children find their own passions. So far they LOVE #gymnastics and they are starting to like swimming a tiny bit more (or hate it less, depending on the particular child)! I love you Justin. Thank you for making me a better person, and a better parent. I long for you to be here to guide our children every day, but I will do my best to impart all the lessons you wanted to teach them. #widowwithamission#honorthepast#embracethefuture#widow#loveneverdies#lifelessons#strongkids#bothellgymnasticsclub#kidsports#liveyourbestlife#grief#griefjourney#loss#missyouforever#bestdadever#besthusbandever#cutekids 💟💟💟
Beauty should be more than physical attributions. The face of Central University should be a lady that is passion driven, a woman that thinks about the well being of others as her responsibility. I am MARITA BROWN contesting for the face of CU with the theme "Embracing the Future". The best way to embrace the future is to actively and continuously make difference In the lives of vulnerable groups in our community. We cannot change their yesterdays but can work together to give them a better tomorrow. Working hand in hand with the women's commissioner and the Student Representative Council I believe I can stop this from being just a dream but a reality . "Dreams will remain dreams till we apply relevant actions without the fear of failure to make them a reality" _Rosemary Willie

Our human brains are always looking for what’s wrong. So often we assume the worst out of a situation or run through all the reasons why something won’t work, why we can’t achieve it, why we can’t have what we want, willing to accept the answers as impending reality
Sometimes we won’t always get what we want. Sometimes things won’t go the way we want but so often they do. We just don’t ever know what the future holds for us to make it ok to continue clinging onto our limiting beliefs, self doubt and pessimism
What if you CAN have all you dream of? What if you CAN be the best? What if something CAN work? Let go of the fear, let go of what you’re so sure you think you know and embrace the endless possibilities of what could be 💫💖💫
