Take the time to smell the roses... Life happens at an insane pace. One that seems to be getting faster. Yesterday Katie and I went into Ayr to order canvas, do the banking, send paintings to clients and ended up purchasing a new toy. Not something we had planned on doing but it will be something to give hours of fun in sure.
Then we came home and chilled for a bit, had a pizza and then went out to Kilmarnock to see the new Johnny English film. This was also good fun.
Years ago, the thought of taking a holiday or a break would fill me with fear. It had been drummed into me that I had to work, work, work. I couldn't take time off or everything would cease to be... Taking a break is essential to remain balence. We were but made for working all the time. Our brains get tired and overheated, we become irritating to those around us and ourselves and eventually the work suffers due to not taking a break.
Today I'm in a much different place and invite you to take a break. Wherever it be to sjop at John morris art from the heart. Com for Christmas presents or to learn a new skill with one of our art courses. The importance of taking a break and doing something new is vital. That's why today I'm having a pajama day.
Have a great day folks.
Continuing with God's plan and purpose for family...There's something really interesting we found in the Bible in recent years which I had never seen before. Did you know that modern English doesn't distinguish between "you" singular and "you" plural? So, it turns out there are at least 4,720 verses (2,698 in the Hebrew Bible and 2,022 in the Greek) with "you plural" translated as English "you". This could lead the average reader to think it is directed at him or her personally rather than the Ekkelsia as a whole.
If you take a look at some of your favourite verses or indeed some of the more challenging verses in the light of this and realise they are addressed to the body of Christ - how it changes things! There's a really heplful website at yall.com. In the US it's "y'all" which I prefer to what it is here in Australia, "youse".
"Christ in y'all the hope of glory!" Colossians 1:27

There’s a wide circle on the internet, where we can share, transparent and true. Then there’s a narrow circle in real life, who see it all, right beside you. Cheers to those who help us not confuse the two. ♥️
Jesus sends out the twelve. He gives them power to heal others and He tells them to give freely as they have received freely. 10:7-8
All for the purpose of proclaiming this message as they go: "the kingdom of Heaven has come near." Jesus tells them to be on their guard. That it isn't going to be easy. "Be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves." 10:16
Be wise and innocent! Above reproach.
What about when they were questioned?
"When they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say. For it will not be you speaking but the Spirit of your Father speaking THROUGH you." 10:19-20
This doesn't just apply when arrested. Think about it. The importance of sharing the Gospel period. As long as we focus on Him and our hearts are in the right place - He will give us the opportunity and the words to say.
So many people are just so afraid they won't have the "right words". But guess what?! God is bigger than your fears and your worry!
He has placed you on their path to use you. To speak through you. You may be the person who is closest to Jesus that they have ever met.
Don't doubt that He wants to use you. Now, don't be afraid! He is big enough to give you the words to say.
Even when we face situations where we may be fearful of sharing the Gospel, Jesus encourages us to not be afraid. Look at Matthew 10:26-28
Our fears shouldn't be for those who can hurt us physically but rather the evil that can kill others spiritually!
Be on your guard but also keep proclaiming and give freely. Let us be to others what we are thankful someone was for us - think about that person that helped you come to Christ. What made them stand out?
Were they fearless or unapologetic about the Gospel?
It's natural to be fearful but we are to take courage and proclaim regardless.
Repost of @8minswithgod "When was the last time that you UNPLUGGED from everyone and PLUGGED into Jesus? In life we have a tendency to put ALL of our energy into people, situations and circumstances that at times we find ourselves having to get "extensions cords" because there's SO MANY that are in need of you however "Your Cord" isn't long enough to reach all who's calling your name! Listen, there's only ONE Who's "Cord" reaches everyone for everything and everywhere at the same time! Your spirit will let you know when it's time to UNPLUG from everything and everyone and PLUG into Jesus! He has such an AMAZING way in letting us know, "My Child, it's time to PLUG into Me." Don't let it get too late that you do not have the energy to unplug from the cares of life and not PLUG into Him." Father, it's in Your Name that we have been given the right to the Tree Of Life. Father, there's so many burdens that we are carrying and You told us to come unto You and lay our burdens at Your Feet because You care for us. So Father, every single burden, we lay at Your Feet. Help us God NOT to pick them back up BUT to Trust the plan that You have for our lives. Father, in the moments of burnt out, Spiritual Dehydration that You will FILL US UP! Father, we UNPLUG from the cares of life and we PLUG into You, for YOU are our very present help in the time of trouble. You are our shield. You are our hiding place! This morning, on a peaceful walk with my son, I was thinking about how difficult these past couple of weeks have been. ⠀
If my eyes are on the ground, all I see is grey. I’m focused on the gloom of it and I lose perspective. ⠀
But when I look up. And thankfully, I do look up. I can see so much more than the small grey patch I’m standing on. And even though it isn’t sunny, I can recognize the unique beauty of these cloudy skies above me. ⠀
There is goodness to be found even in the difficult times. Can we look up and see it?
Picked up my ten month chip tonight. What the heck. There was a time when I didn’t think I could live without alcohol. Now I can’t imagine life with it. This sober life is so much better. So much sweeter.
alright friends. it’s been a while since one of my good ole’ vulnerable posts but here it goes. .
The Lord has been taking me way deeper in my IG ministry. Way deeper than just posting pictures and encouraging people. But before moving forward, things need to be healed. Things need to be built upon His foundation, not mine. Things need to be lifted off my back and given back to Him. Humility needs to happen. Until things are fully built upon His love + truth, nothing will bear fruit. I desire a ministry that is 100% guided by the Holy Spirit, not what Rachael knows will grow my numbers. .
In every quiet time the past few months, it’s been about how I need to refine and change my insta to glorify Him more. But He wants my heart, not my ability to share His name with people. He wants relationship with me first and foremost and through that will be the overflow that shows His love to His people. That’s true ministry. For that reason, I am taking the next two weeks to BE with my Father. To not only talk about ministry, but to be in closer intimacy with Him. To know His heart and His promises. To be His daughter, not His servant. ❣️

Just sitting here scrolling through memory lane and all you mothers know how bad of an idea that is... birth photos, to one week old, to two weeks old... to E I G H T months old. How does it go by so fast? I just don’t think it’s fair!
God doesn’t want your praise and service if he doesn’t have your heart. If it’s not coming from a place of love, expecting nothing in return, it is dead works in the sight of God. If you have to remind or tell people how you helped them, it’s dead works. If people have to give you undying loyalty in return for your support, it’s dead works. Let our service be without expectation, and our love without condition. #likechristlovedthechurch#lessonslearned
Fall is my favorite season. I love the crisp air, the incredible colors, wearing my favorite boots and sweaters, visiting the pumpkin patch and knowing that Christmas is right around the corner.
But, every year around this time another feeling settles over me. It’s tinged with sadness.
It makes me feel…melan-fall-y. 🍂
All around me I see this dramatic and colorful evidence of change.
Of time moving forward…and moving quickly! With each leaf that falls I think “slow down, slow down.” In the past, I used to feel so conflicted about this melan-fall-y feeling that arose in me every year. How could I love this season so intensely and yet feel such a sense of sadness inside at the same time? And then I began to look at it in a different way.
Perhaps this feeling wasn’t something to be pushed down. Maybe I was just supposed to sit in it…let it come up all around me like when my sister and I would bury ourselves in the big pile of leaves our dad had just raked until only our eyes were visible.
Maybe this season isn’t just about sweaters and boots and mulled cider candles and pumpkin spice lattes. Maybe feeling melan-fall-y is actually a gift.
A chance to pause and revel in this season before moving quickly onto the next one.
Maybe walking through the woods, leaves crunching underneath, feeling that ache inside is supposed to remind me of how finite I am so that I can remember just how infinite my creator is.
Maybe He even built that ache right into me so that I would seek Him out. The truth is that while the leaves may fall off of them, the branches that seem so stark and bare hold new growth inside. New life. Fresh starts. So, I choose to embrace my melan-fall-y feelings. I allow room for them in my heart.
Not too much room.
But just enough to keep me keenly aware of just how fleeting this world is…and just how truly grateful I am for every moment I have in it.
Today is Day 16 of Learning to Dream Again and it is Tuesday Book Reviews! Link In Profile. 📖
Wholeness is not something we just magically find ourselves living in. We have been given wholeness in Christ but living in this world is messy and it is more like stumbling than an easy climb to experience all that God has for us in his love. 📚
Stumbling Toward Wholeness is a great companion on the road to learning to dream again and embrace the love and life God has for us. I was surprised by the vulnerability and places this book took me and I think you will be too. 📖🌻
