Yesterday was the last session I’d did on the silver DW kit before shipping it out to its new owner. I’m gonna miss that one and it was a great kit for 4 years. Check this original track by Chris Marksbury and that Noble & Cooley snare. .

Warmed up to this wild 9/8 track made by the homie @jbitsbeats. Tried to push myself to find as many ways to phrase against it as I could in 10 minutes. Here’s a minute of that exploration...anybody recognize the first groove? 😛Drums have bus compression and some verb to help them sit with the track. 🤙🏼 thanks for the fun jam, Jay!
A lot of people have requested a (DRUMS only) version of one of my previous uploads, so here it is:

I'm putting this up in direct response to my mate @adammacdrums about not posting perfection. Couldn't agree more with him and say that you shouldn't be fearful of posting a shitty drum take or yourself learning something. 🥁I'm guilty of it. I have videos on my phone where 90% of it is utter garbage. So I delete them, instead I should probably watch it all back. Here's me jamming out some metal a few months back, not a genre I get to play much cause I play in rock and pop bands. It's all improvisation, so I'm not practicing something and my flow isn't the best, it's repetitive, lacks creativity and is sloppy (especially that foot pattern bit at the end🤮) but there ye go!
Dont be scared of criticism, I happily take it, in fact roast me for this post if you want. I love it! I would love for what I post to be all shiny and perfect. Maybe one day it will, but always try and show the graft that it takes to get there.😎
Making stuff with friends.
Yesterday I spent the day with Jake from @churchfront and @jessebolandofficial, a local friend and fellow #worshipdrummer.
We made videos about how drummers and worship leaders can improve their communication and work better as a team. Jake specifically shared on what every worship leader wants their drummer to know. —
We also made a video where Jake walks us through the power of using Ableton Live in worship!
The coolest part was we got to film in the Youtube Creator Space in Toronto using exceptionally expensive gear. —
Jake and Jesse, thanks for making it a great and fun experience.
Make sure you’re subscribed to both Worship Drummer and Churchfront on YouTube so you don’t miss out on these videos when they are published in a few weeks.
Esse desafio da puberdade me lembrou que eu toco bateria a mais tempo que permito que tirem fotos minhas! Nunca gostei de sair nas fotos! Hahahahahahahahahahahah
2003 - Banda Reticências
2018 - Banda REVERB
Had a great time creating content yesterday with Jake from @churchfront and @jessebolandofficial. Stay tuned as we will be publishing videos in the coming weeks that focus on strengthening the worship leader-drummer relationship.
Also, can’t forget to mention how cool the YouTube Space in Toronto is. Thanks for looking after us so well!
Over summer I was able to go home after being at uni and work for a year. Between leaving home and recording these, it had been almost 11 months since I even sat and played a drum kit. So when I finally got to play them after all that time, I recorded a large amount videos to see how bad I now am. Selected some decent ones, but I've lost some creativity and sometimes things sound sketchy, but not half bad. My phone also fell off multiple times when recording, but no damages 😂. Might use some meshuggah as inspiration next time for some odd time signatures, but that might be around Christmas time because back to uni
Would advise to use earphones with some decent bass 😂 .
It’s alive, and it’s amazing. I’ve had the outboard gear (rack on the left) for years and never had the heart to sell any of it and didn’t have the understanding or willingness to try and use it any other way than this. I’ve patched in a Focusrite Octopre (for gain staging when needed) a 2 channel vintage DBX comp (the “overeasy” comp on this thing is fantastic) a stereo Lexicon verb/delay unit, and an Art Tube 2-channel Comp - oh and a sick tape delay pedal with real tape heads. I’ll primarily be sending recorded material through this stuff to effectively Fuck With It. NOTE: I completely intend to use this gear in manners other than recommended. Like the great Starlord once said: “I’m gonna make a lot of weird shit.” Still getting my bearings but so far the proof of concept is acceptable and further experimentation shall commence immediately. 😎😎🤓🤓🤘🏻🤘🏻
