happiness: a state of well-being and contentment ✨💫
Fair warning this is gonna be a long caption but wanted to share what’s on my heart in case someone else needs to hear it💗 I have found my happiness while in Hawaii, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have quite a journey to get here or that I no longer have to put in work to remain happy. It is something that I’m working at everyday. ——
I have chronic pain. I have anxiety. I was not in a good place before I left for Hawaii. I was stressed out, overwhelmed, anxious, unhappy and my body was literally starting to fall apart. I went to so many doctors appointments and had lots of tests done, but all of my results seemed relatively normal. I knew that if I wanted to get better I needed to make a drastic lifestyle change. So I left my job, moved my stuff back to my parents and four weeks later I was at my brother’s place in Hawaii. ——
It has been hard and challenging and wonderful and exciting and terrifying, but now almost four months later I can say that I have found a state of contentment, joy and peace. Do I still have bad days? Yes, of course. Does my anxiety still try to tell me I can’t do things? Absolutely. But I am choosing to reframe those negatives thoughts into positives. Encourage myself daily and give myself grace when needed.
I am now feeling the best I have in a long time. I had to put in some serious work on my mental, emotional and physical health. It has taken time, and that is perfectly okay. I will continue to put in the work everyday. ——
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, both positive and negative. If the hard times had never happened, then I probably wouldn’t have gone outside my comfort zone and moved to this beautiful island. ——
All this to say, even if you feel like things are impossible, you can do it! If you are struggling, it gets better! If you are feeling overwhelmed, just take it one step at a time. And if you’ve been contemplating making a serious change in your life, sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and GO FOR IT! 💖

How do you preserve your memories?
I love preserving memories; I’ve always been one to keep little mementos from trips. I take millions of pictures and I’ve always loved #scrapbooking and I’ve just come to realize that #instagram is just another type of scrapbook. Thank you to those who take the time to watch/read/share in my memories❤️
