Zootopia is a disney animated film from Byron Howard and Rich Moore. It follows Judy Hopps as she attempts to make it into the Zootopia police force as the first rabbit officer. Howard and Moore create a visually stunning world full of variety and originality. It is unlike any other Disney film that has ever been made and it's definitely one of the most creative if not the most. After seeing it for a third time this week I can say that it is definitely in my top 3 animated films of all time. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman play Judy and Nick. They are both very funny in this film and you can tell that they are both great voice actors. The whole film itself is even more than just a funny animated film as it also serves as an allegory on racism. It's very discreet as the intended audience that is watching it (Children) won't even notice but if you really pay attention you can understand how this film also serves as a lesson to the new generation. The film even features some great references to The Godfather and other Disney films, and most importantly Breaking Bad (My favourite tv show ever!). Some great scenes includes when Judy finally finds the answer to the nighthowler mystery and when Nick joins the police force. Therefore Zootopia is a fun and entertaining film on the surface and a deep beautiful allegory the deeper you go down.
The Westover Hills branch of @rva_library, May 20, 2018, Richmond, Va. I'm not even showing off here like I'm some bookworm or something. I under-use our wonderful library because I'm always so behind in the books I'm supposedly "reading" that I never want to check any more out. I should just declare reading bankruptcy and start fresh.
