HOW TO ASSESS STRENGTH IN AN OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTER
There is no denying that body composition and fitness play monumental role in a weightlifting athlete’s success.
In Olympic weightlifters, sports scientists assess relative strength using a dynamometer grip test.
This is done because it is a safe, quick and simple method for assessing maximal strength. .
The next test set of tests are the Isometric Thigh Pull Test, Isokinetic Dynamometer Test, and the Wingate Test.
All three tests assess peak force production and anaerobic fitness.
I am in the process of seeking new guests for the blog in 2019. What would like to have sports scientists and athletes featured on the blog to speak about fitness? Is there anyone in particular you would like to see featured on the blog?
