Following the earlier posts you may remember that the Weather was not completely friendly during the #fortworthallianceairshow this past weekend. On Sunday my friend Harley Jones from Sydney, Australia (who planned on coming to see us during this years Alliance Show, finally got the good news that the Weather had opened up enough at #KAFW (after the perfect skies during the main performances had faded to gray again like our first attempt to get Harley up on Friday) so that he could take his flight with @pac333 -Tom Paquin, owner of @victory_aviation who is seen here in the front seat of the jet. @ck_victoryaviation Chris K. Is seen re-connecting the nose gear Torque-Link after the jet was towed from the display area of the ramp to the "Hot" ramp for Start Up. Harley is a pilot and flies as well and of course he was able to take the controls and put it through its paces. Needless to say, he landed with a big smile on his face! We had intended to have the S211 land back at home plate, Denton Airport (KDTO) where my friend Chris R, was bringing the T-45C (and a Marine Student) due to not being able to get into Alliance on Friday or Sat AM due to weather and of course air space closure.
Well the WX deteriorated again and the S211 returned to KAFW while we were enroute to KDTO about 25 min north on I35. So we turn around and fetch Harley as the S211 was put to bed with all the Snowbirds Jets in #allianceaviationservices hangar.
Back up to Denton in cars to wait for Chris R's approach to Denton from the ramp. We gathered with several other good friends found during the show to watch the T-45C make 2 approaches and finally land and Taxi in to the ramp. Lots of good times with great friends the whole airshow, and with the KDTO gathering, even more fun was had. The weather continued to wreak havoc on Chris's attempts to get back to Corpus Christi- but that is a whole other story!
While we did not take a display out to the Airshow this year due to that rain, we sure enjoyed helping out with Victory Aviation's display and jet and Harley loved his flight. After a quick trip to San Diego, I plan on getting in some flights with Tom and Chris at Victory Aviation-
