❤️🐾Happy Adoptaversary to our very sweet Alumni Hawkeye and Radar🐾❤️ Gail, thank you for all you do for us (the shelter) and for the animals!! Your support has saved and helped so many!! These two kiddos hit the jackpot in the love department and are so lucky to have you and Jim and the rest of the pack siblings!! ❤️❤️ From Adopter:
So grateful to Fairfield County Animal Shelter for these two that we adopted as puppies. They turned out to be exceptionally smart and incredibly fun. By playing with them, our old dogs have become young again. Heck, we have become young again chasing them around!
My husband and I would like to encourage more people to become foster homes. We have fostered 7 dogs for Fairfield. It is a rewarding feeling of accomplishment to know that you are the reason that dog gets into a rescue or gets adopted. By being in your home and learning how to become a house dog, you are giving a dog the lessons it needs to have a successful adoption. If you are lucky, the adopters stay in touch throughout the dog's life and you get to stay involved in that way. Like having grand kids, teach them a little, spoil them a lot, then send them home!
What we thought would be longer or long term ended up only being 3 months. Today the girls left and we are all a bit heartbroken. We found out a few days ago they would be leaving by the end of the month and then we found out it would be in 3 days. Having to tell our big girl today nearly ripped my heart out as I sobbed in their closet packing all of their stuff this morning. She had a LOT of questions and we talked through all of them and she felt a little better. We said “I love you” a million times and off they went to their new home. We can’t share details, so PLEASE don’t ask. It’s not our story or information to share and we legally aren’t allowed to :(
On Thursday Tyler let me take a bath, soak, and read. I grabbed “Everybody Always” and jumped in where I left off. The entire chapter Bob Goff talked about the value in taking risks and trusting in God. How playing it safe (in certain situations) isn’t having faith in God. It’s wanting control. This was so timely because in a situation where part of me doesn’t want to foster again, this made me shift to “of course we will foster again!” Even if we lost 10 more little ones, we loved them for a season and that will always be worth it. When the case worker came to get the girls, Tyler and I both got them loaded and gave them kisses and hugs. When I was buckling our big girl in the case worker said “I can’t believe your husband is here to say bye! Usually they just have he wife deal with everything” Y’ALL WHY? We have to change that, these kiddos need strong Christian men to love them and be there even when they leave. So thankful Tyler put off work the entire day to make sure he was there. Foster care is tough, but your love is strong and we are thankful we got to love them for a period of time. ❤️ We can’t wait to love on the next one! Lately I have been diving into my Alabaster books of the Bible because magazine style bible reading just feels right sometimes ➕
Our morning started early! We woke mom up at 5:45 to go outside. I found this amazing goo and had to get it on me! Mom was not as happy and put me in the tub! She used this bar soap on me and took off my amazing smell. I was pretty sad but she said I was kissable again. Meh, I’m sure I can find my perfume again, it’s out there waiting for me! #fureverhome#foster#rescue#pitmix#bestfriend#dirtydog

Meet our Simon 🐶~
Simon arrived as a stray on May 11. He has been the model dog sice the day he arrived and has been paired with a few other dogs but he noticed all his kennel mates but not one person has taken a second look at him. His mellow personality makes him stand out. He likes to go out on walks and enjoys playing around with the staff or volunteers. He also knows the command, SIT.
He does have some hair loss on his back which may just be due to allergies. Simon is hoping to get noticed and be a part of someone's family. This mellow boy is normally always been quiet but it's time for him to find a family of his own. Shelter life is not for him. He would rather be in a home with a nice family and a big yard. Simon is a little explorer who simply enjoys the summer breeze along with his walk. He is hoping you will notice him now. Simon is 5 years old and only weighs 65 pounds.
If you know someone who is looking for a smart and wonderful dog like Simon, please go visit him at the shelter or contact email@example.com

Just so y'all know. This little guy is neutered, litter box trained, aaaannnnndddd Snapchat trained. You just have to watch him because sometimes he likes to chomp lips. 😂😂😂
‼️Fosters or kitty adopters needed‼️The owner of this property sold it and the new owner will be tearing everything down. The 4 kittens and 5-6 adults will be left with no shelter, which has been there home for several years. One of the workers has been feeding them for a very long time. When the building is torn down, they will all scatter, looking for food and shelter. Their colony as they know of it will mostly be no more. I can trap them, but they won’t have anywhere to go. Can anyone take the kittens and/or the adults? Pls consider saving a life. Pls share this post. 🙏🏼 #rescue#adopt#foster#kittens#cats#browardcounty#kitty#kittens#kittensofinstagram#adopt#adoptme#takemehome#foster#fostersneeded#browardcounty#Repost @a_laurella
