New review up on the site! This time it’s the Kaweco AL Sport in Stonewashed Black. Contributor Tim (@rockett86) did an awesome job on this one, so make sure you check it out! Do you like the Sport line of fountain pens? If so, let us know in the comments below which one’s your favorite…
I began late today. No, am not trying to make an excuse :). I did it by choice. For the last few days work has been slow. And when I say 'work' you know that, that doesn't mean sketching right? Right. So yes, I had to do something about it.
Moving the sketching bit to the later half of the day seemed a good option. That way I could use the morning hours for my work, though may be at the risk of ruining the daily sketch. I mean sketching in the afternoon? with a yawn and drowsy eyes? not advisable, I know. But I had to revamp my schedules somehow.
The good part was that I knew exactly what I was gonna draw. When I saw the prompt - bottle - I had thought this is gonna be easy. But then I was reminded that an inkpot might be a good idea. And of course I did have an inkpot that looked slick (and obviously, very challenging). Afternoon, and a solid challenge. I needed better strategies here. I made a mug of black and dark south-indian coffee, and strapped on my headphones with a tamil playlist lead by A.R. Rahman and Harris Jayaraj. This felt good. And that's how it began.
The vertical patterns on the bottle was very tough. But the fact that the ink doesn't fill the whole bottle - it being kind of a crystal bottle, was tougher. This meant that the bottom of the bottle was just glass, and no ink. So that part becomes some what transparent. The effect this has on the light and shadow is way too intricate. Add to all this, the fact that I was using a mobile torch on one side, so as to get the trajectory of light clearly, and you have a clearer picture of how 'easy' the bottle turned out to be.
Anyhow, the result is here for you all to see, and I do look forward to comments and suggestions.

One pen that was bought abt two years ago, but I only got used to it until recently... a pen with quite a pensonality... I think Pilot will be the only Japanese brand I will stick with for fountain pens... #fountainpen#stationery
