Why does my husband have a devious look in his eye? Because we went to a burger place for lunch after church today and then went to Target in the same shopping center after which he decided to go back to the burger place to get another refill. “Frugal living!” he said as he got back in the car. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
What’s the one thing that you spend most of your money on? 💰 (Not including your rent or mortgage!)
Ours is definitely food! We put everything on our credit card and pay it off in full each month. I recently went through our expenses, and yep food came out on top!
I really want to bring the cost down to under $100 a week for our groceries. I want to get to the markets soon for our fresh fruit and veg, but it’s a big trip early in the morning 😂 (excuses!)
We have reduced our eating out dramatically and are saving so much money. We used to have japanese every week ($45) and usually go out to breakfast too on the weekend ($50). It added up to as much as our groceries were costing for a whole week in just 2 meals! So now we only eat out once every few weeks, although our inlaws get takeaway when we visit once a week 😉
So I’d love to know - a part from rent or your mortgage, what’s your biggest expense? Food? Electricity bill? Water bill? Transport? Clothing? Formula? Nappies?

Happy Sunday!! Today is meal prep Sunday! I don’t always meal prep, but I make sure to meal plan. I look up 5 recipes (usually from Pinterest) that I can make for dinner for the upcoming week and write down all of the ingredients.
Some tips ⬇️
🍁An easy frugal tip is to always shop your pantry, fridge, and freezer first. If you have a bunch of frozen chicken, maybe do more chicken recipes that week. It can be easier on your budget if you do this.
🍁 Leftover nights are great to do on days when you know you’ll be busy and might grab for a quick unhealthy convenience item. Or if your like me and stop by Taco Bell 🤷♀️ when you’re in a pinch.
🍁 Another frugal tip is to shop the weekly newspaper ads! There can be specials on different cuts of meat that week that you might want to stock up on and freeze for later.
Have a great work week everyone! 😉
We are heading home from Germany tomorrow and I am PUMPED to really dive in to Baby Step 3B. Here’s our current plan. Yes, things will probably change and yes, this is probably overly idealistic but I’m putting it out in the universe anyway!
Taking some time to finally put together a family filing system! This is something I’ve wanted to do for awhile but now that we are home owners with 2 kiddos, it has become increasingly important to keep our paperwork and documentation organized. #adulting
